Covid-19 Summer Update:

June 1, 2020

Dear Prairie Pines Playhouse Patrons,

Due to the closings resulting from Covid-19 and the uncertainty of what the next few months will bring, we have made the decision keep our theatre closed through the summer.  Over the past few crazy months, we have juggled closing our theatre during the stay-at-home orders, rescheduling all of our spring and fall weddings, and making the decision to cancel our annual music camp and concert series, Chamber Music at The Barn. Once we came to the time when we would normally be in production for our summer show, it became apparent that the best decision for our farm, theatre, and employees would be to remain closed for now.

We support the decisions many local theatres have made to reopen. We understand the difficulty in keeping this type of business up at running at this strange time. Thank YOU for continuing to support local theatres and businesses.

After decades of busy summers, Prairie Pines will experience to a quiet one where we plan to refocus our energy on many often-overlooked areas of our farm. We are thankful that this brief summer hiatus will provide us with the opportunity to do some maintenance and infrastructure projects that are always difficult to tackle with the constant flow of events and guest to our farm. In turn, we hope that this will enable us to serve you better when we open the doors this fall.

We feel optimistic that we will be back in full swing this fall and holiday season. We are already taking reservations for our popular holiday themed whodunit which is set to begin in November. We will open our haunted attraction, Field of Screams, in September. We are also selling theatre gift cards and preparing our Christmas shop and tree farm opening for Black Friday.

Thank you for your continued support and loyalty.  We will see you soon!
